It is difficult to say just how this registry cleaner performed, however I did run a scan first using another somewhat well known registry cleaner (RegZooka) and then perform a fix using 'fwrc' of which it showed and repaired 104 errors. I then performed another scan using Regzooka and it reported only 6 errors less than previously (there was originally 745). So in conclusion and using another registry cleaner as a 'base line', it seemingly did not perform that well. I was certainly expecting that 'fwrc' would remove some of the many 'empty registry keys' that I definitely know is on the computer. It removed none according to my other base line scan. Thanks anyway. It's all still helping in the greater understanding of registry cleaners.

Free windows reg cleaner was quick and easy to use. I wasn't aware how much that this computer maintenance is needed. I cross checked this cleaner with another, and it found alot more errors. Overall this is a fair product.

Hi, i was getting really fed up cause every time i opened my email an error sign popped up and i couldn't send or recieve email. Plus nearly every time i opened a web page it said an error has occured and i spent the next hour going through 'diagnose connection' problems. So i put in the google search why am i having these problems with my computer, and most of the answers said that i probably needed a registry cleaner. I was so frightened of making things worse, as i do not understand alot of the technical side to computers, but i got to a point where i had no choice, my computer was driving me mad. The next thing was finding one that you didn't need a mortgage for, and i eventually came across this one. When it said it was free i thought yeah right, so did alot of others till you started to down load them and then they'd say 'this is the trial version, we advise you to buy our full version' what a swiss, as the trial versions just told you how much danger your computer was in, if you didn't. When i found this one i was getting desperate, so i thought i'd give it a go; best thing i've ever downloaded, my computer runs even better and faster than when it was brand new, and best of all it really is free. I was reminded by the PC that it did not have a valid digital signature. However, I went ahead I clean my registry. Before that I took the back-up of the registry.After cleaning, my PC could not boot up normally, so I booted thru "last good option" and restored the registry.

This product is not, I repeat, not 100% free. The download is free alright and the registry is scanned. However, once errors are reported, you are then told you must register to complete getting rid of the errors found. When I selected registered low and behold, much like other programs that say they are totally freeware, a payment section appears giving you the price to pay, and the option to pay for the program's services i.e., Visa etc. I am getting sick and tired of being conned by websites that state that their product is abolute freeware downloads only to repeatedly find to complete any further operations of the program you must pay for it. I find this not only unethical but this program like others is being situated in websites that indicate that all programs are totally 100% freeware at no cost and no registration. Many programs will even state under their title in small print that the program is totally freeware and the license is freeware. I know as most people do, that this is only a ploy to get the individual to download a program thinking it is totally freeware. Something should be done about programs of this nature even being allowed to be put into total freeware websites: it is unethical and nothing more than a con job. If this type of situation continues, I as many others likely will or have, complain to web authorites about the falsity of the claims by a company and their respective software programs as being total freeware when they are not. I suggest, you do not put your software programs that do cost money to use in any totally freeware websites. Let's be a little ethical and immediately stop this annoying practise or I personally will make an official complaint about this approach to dupe a user to download a program which is advertised as total freeware only to find out that it is not once it has been downloaded.

Fantastic start.

Firstly, I have been using Registry cleaner/fixer for close to five years, and although I had been using ^ every two weeks,or once a month,I downloaded your Free Windows Registry Cleaner 1.1.0,and did a scan,there were over 300 errors.I was hesitant to tick to clean the errors,but I did,and I was amazed.My computer indeed ran faster.The only thing that surprised me was the size of the download,but if one has 2-4 or more GB's then it is well worth having,and too,it is always best to try a registry cleaner/fixer a while before purchasing an updated freeware.

Good program

I have used many different registry cleaners in the past. Many were happy to tell you how many problems you had but would not fix them till you paid. All too often with things like antivirus, malware removers and reg cleaners, they can be a scam. They usually invite you to have a "free trial scan", then they report a bug, then you have to pay. All too often the bug is non existent. This Free Windows Registry Cleaner has no scams, no airs and graces, it just does the job. I cannot speak for how thorough it is, but it worked fine for me. Small, compact, installs without any hitches, then just works. What more do you needd.

Error Messages

I downloaded this program and installed it. After the free preview I purchased it and when I installed it and tried to run it I kept getting error messages. I sent emails three times to the "contact us" link and they were all returned to me with the message that "the mailbox is full" The error message I got was "Access violation at address 004B0C98 in module regfixf.exe. Read of address 00000038" I was able to run it a few times but some of the time it said that I had already fixed 50 problems and would have to upgrade to get the other problems fixed. This was after I had already paid $29. This program is totally worthless. I am unable to contact anyone to initiate a refund. If I am unable to contact anyone I will have to dispute the charge to my card. I think the advertising is very deceptive. I tried clicking on the support button but of course there was no response. What a rip-off.

ruined my computer

this wrecked my computer. I could not log in after runnning the registry cleaner. E-mailed the company and they told me how to restore my registry. Useful information if I could have gotten my computer to finish booting up to begin with. Could not even boot in safe mode. Had to reinstall O/S.

Better than expected!

I run a "clean" computer, and have used a different registry cleaner, which I thought did a good job.

Then the other day I heard about Free Windows Registry Cleaner, and I decided to see if it was as good as the current one I was using.

First I used my old cleaner, it found 5 items, but i did not delete them, closed the program and then ran Free Windows Registry Cleaner. If it was as good as my previous cleaner, it would be able to find the same 5 items.

It did more than that, it found those 5, plus, it found 106 other items, which i then deleted.

I then did a reboot, and then did a registry optimization, and the registry had been reduced in size by 2%.

Great product and easy to use.

The program was easy to download, install and run. It also found and fixed ~100 errors in my registry (thou other commersial tools found ~700). Unfortunately my problem wasn't resolved. On the other hand: my problem may not be due to a registry error.

First impressions

I found that this programme was good for finding obsolete files but that was about all. Other errors were not found or repaired. I have been having a problem with an 0xc0000142 error and this was of no assistance in that regard.It would be good if it were as capable as some of the "Pay" programmes that not all of us can afford, nor in many cases, get what we pay for. Good for a quick clean up though.

Review after one test

Hello,
I was pleased with the use of this FWRC, because it worked correctly and after restart there were no problems.
I always regarded "messing" with the registry very risky, so I waited a long time before trying your program. As said, with good results.
PC seems slightly faster now, but there are still some other problems that were not in the registry (apparently).
Anyway: I am happy to have this tool on my PC to deal with registry issues!

Upset with the uses of free.

It is just an ad to get you to buy the software, so what is free, the free version did nothing but tell you what it could fix if you register for the full version of the product, I'm so tired of the over use of the word free why not just say "try windows registry cleaner or sample". I may have purchased this product but it was upset when it only fixed two things out of two hundred plus problems.

This reg cleaner is not to shabby.

The program seems quick, is it really getting everything? One scan from another reg cleaner said I had 800 some odd errors, this one said I think it was 120 or so. But regardless of all that I think my computer is definetly working better and it is not as sluggish as it was. Thank you

The Fastest Speed of All!

I do not know how early in your development this is (September, 2007), but I think you are doing an excellent job for early versions of something as complex as cleaning up behind Microsoft!
I would like to be able to resolve some native windows eroors like:

Wiped out all file extensions

I had to call customer support through Microsoft to restore my computer to it's original state before I could use it again. After installing your program and running it, all file extensions were deleted which made it impossible to run any programs.

I am not impressed with your product. I had to waste a day trying to get my laptop in working condition.

My desktop was running slow and a friend told me to try cleaning the registry. After I tried your product the errors found to be repair were a few and the kind of task I was trying to solve was still there. After reading the troubleshooting suggestion from my IP I found out that by turning off and on my modem I might solve the problem . I did that and now it is ok.

I do not know what other kind of tasks to solve with your program. I did not tried your product in full and my ratings on question 2 are not 100% base on the use of your product.

WRC is an excellent piece of software

To tell the truth, at fist I wasn't too sure about it. But I ran the scan and it showed 180 problems. I have had free software in the past that has messed up my system. However, WRC done a greta job and I thank you for offering it.
There is a lot of free software available on the web. Some good and some not so good, and some bad. But I will tell that your software is one of the best, and did a good job, and again I thank You.

My system is quite old (1999) and is an upgrade from ME to XP home. With all the free software I have had over this time. My system has a fair amount of useless tracks and it seems that WRC has taken care of that.

i downloaded it and it totally made my computer faster in surfing and before that,I had a problem with the start up.It would freeze everytime I would turn it on every morning and I would have to reset it at least 3 times to make it work properly.Now that I used this software,for the first time in 3 months,It started up perfect the way it supposed to function.I really happy with the way it fixed my computer problems.Also,the pages load up 10 times faster now and smoother.I recommend that if you people had the same problems on your computer,This software will fix it properly.Thank You,Darrell

only my opinion

I'm sorry I removed this item from my pc after I found from xp registry repair I had another 548 repairs to be completed and the other reg cleaner din't even find these and they were to do with the runing of my Win Xp. So sorry I would not recomend this to be used.

Disk problem

I downloaded this program as my PC was saying that there was a problem with me disk and to have it checked. However, Scanchk would not work, presumably due to the problem. I hoped that by scanning the registery, that this migth help, but it didn't.

Free Registry Cleaner Destroyed My XP OS

Downloaded this free registry cleaner to an XP Home Edition unit last night. Cleaned up the registry. Later I rebooted and the system will no longer come up.

I should have Googled this product before installing.

I would avoid this "free" software. If you do not have the skills to develop things of this nature, you should not be writing code and listing it for free.

I wonder if they have a "pay" service to undue the damage this product has done?

First of all - is this realy Free software, as you trying to force in the name?
I am looking for tool to remove all not necessary actions from Win XP.
Normally Win includes several drivers, actions, protocols etc from which only some (appr. 5%) are realy important for normal home tasks. Thats why the Win is so huge and needs so big machines to run it. I want to remove all what is slowing down the PC and doing background tasks - no ones knows - what for...
Sorry, yours software do not fulfilled my expectation.

WHOA!!!,Windows 98

WHOA!!!, If you load this in a windows 98 OS it will delete all registrys and make it impossible to open you files. I loaded this on an XP OS and it worked fine. Of the two OS 98 systems, 1 was recovered by reloading the OE OS,Was very relieved, the other was TRASHED! I lost all my files and had to dump the whole hard drive and reload a new OS to bring it back up. So happens, it was my work computer. I HIGHLY do not recomend loading this free cleaner. The damage was just not worth it.

Clear your PC free

This software is easy to download and is completely free. Who has PC, always has troubles with so many things, mainly during the time, the PC became slow. It's the worst thing who works everyday depending by it.
I hope that this software could help my PC and work as faster as a could.

My system is now completely screwed up

I downloaded your software yesterday to clean my registry. I now have a system that, though it will boot up, will not run any of my devices. It appears now from all the error messages I am getting that I will have to reload Windows XP. I'm not at all thrilled with this.

Yes, this free program found and removed unused registry entries but that was all it did. Does that help Windows run better? - I don't know. It didn't fix the problem I had with some item taking 100% of my cpu use for about five minutes after a restart, but then I don't know if any utility could.

This product is not good.

I used this product last night and it erased all my file atributes, could not open nothing on my computer, luckly I know how to by pass and restore my files "open with" and was able to fix, please do not use this product if you value your comp.

Surprisingly Good!

I used the free windows registry cleaner for my laptop with Windows Me and a desktop with windows XP. The results were beyond my expectations. Surprisingly good!
